Debate Broadcast about Deforestation

Good morning,

This is a post about work!

As first real result of the popularization work we do here, I will make you the feedback of our debate about deforestation we organized with Cecilia.
We decided to begin the debate by a projection of the movie "Green" (http://www.greethefilm.com/), dealing with deforestation in Indonesia by all sides: causes and consequences following the agony of Green, a female orang utan.

This movie is very strong and even if it seems far from the mexican problems, it launch debates

After this projection, which provoked a lot of reactions, anger and cries, I began the debate talking about the movie and its impact. Then the talk went to the political responsibilities of deforestation and other things in Mexico, but quickly the debate refocused on deforestation in Mexico.

The debate was really constructive with interventions of scientists in ecology, of a political woman, of a journalist and many other persons. Missed only the reactions of the members of CONAFOR (Comision Nacional Forestal), the government part for forests, whereas their presence and some critics by the audience about the Mexican politic about forests.

So, this debate was a great success and I hope open the door for others.

You have to know that we could use the auditorium of the Casa del Artiste with the participation of the Tlaxcaltecan Institute for Culture and that CONACYT (Comision Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnologia) sent a journalist for interviews before (for advertisement) and during the debate.
